PRINTING AND CONSTRUCTION
Once you order your patterns you will receive an email with links to download and print your patterns. If you don’t see the email right away, check your junk mail. Your links will be live for 7 days and allow you 2 downloads. Be sure to use the measurement guide and measurement instructions to find the exact size pattern that you need. Patterns are nonrefundable.
Our patterns are intended for sewists that have experience sewing from a moderate to advanced level. Basic construction instructions are downloadable from our website.
There is a 1” square provided on all patterns to make sure that they are printing at the correct size. Print actual size and in either portrait or landscape orientation depending upon your printer. All printers are slightly different. So, look through all pages in your preview screen in the print mode to ensure that they are not distorted.
NOTE: You may need to click the box saying, “Choose paper source by PDF size”. When you click that box, the page in the preview will be slightly larger and the white area of the page will include the entire alignment, “X”.

Interlining; Interlining refers to material added between the outer fabric and the lining of a garment. You would typically use it to add body, strength or change the drape of fabric.
Flat lining; Is the process of cutting out your pattern in interlining fabric and mounting it onto your fashion fabric by pinning the two together, and either straight stitch or serge the outer edges of each pattern piece. The double layer is then treated as one piece prior to construction of the garment.
Armscye; The armhole opening in a garment where the arm passes through, and where a sleeve may be attached.
Etymology: From Old English terms “earm + scye” (armhole) and can be reanalyzed as “arm’s eye”.
Sleeve cap; Curved top section of the sleeve from the front underarm to the back underarm. Changes in fullness of the cap seam line and cap height will result in dramatically different sleeve styles.
Cap sleeve; Are a specific style of short sleeve that fits on the shoulder and tapers to nothing just before the underarm.
When constructing the paper pattern pieces, we suggest taping together the entire printed document before beginning to cut out the pattern pieces. While matching up the diamonds, make sure to overlap the paper aligning the lines on the corresponding pages and tape them together (each page is numbered).
- Grainline arrows on the pattern indicate the direction to place each piece onto the fabric. Line up the grainline marking parallel to the selvage or fold of your fabric.
- There are notches on many of the pattern pieces. These need to be indicated on your fabric pieces with small clips within the seam allowance, and will be used to match fabric pieces throughout construction.
Brocade, Jacquard, Velvet, Faille, or Stretch Velvet, Spandex, Jumbo Spandex, or any medium to heavy weight fabric. Note: with stretch velvet, minimal modifications may be needed. Flatline stretch velvet with a medium weight spandex or stretch twill.
